Product Description
This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new condition. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes.

Ready to use straight out of the box, the Bostitch MFN200 factory-reconditioned 2-cleat manual flooring cleat nailer, comes along with a rubber mallet. Simply unpack, load, and strike to nail down and construct stable flooring. Ideal for the DIYer as well as the professional installer, this power cleat nailer drives 1-1/2- to 2-inch nails with minimal effort.

Gun it on hardwood or engineered floors and set the tongue-and-groove joint right for once and for all. The long-reach handle of this cleat nailer enhances the comfort. You need not bend every time to strike this nailer. The sturdy aluminum construction makes Bostitch MFN200 endure jobsite abuse. The Bostitch MFN200 assures a jam-free operation and lets you smoothly nail an L-shaped serrated nail at every strike. The rubber bumper prevents the flooring from any sort of damage, leaving it neat and spotless. With a magazine capacity of 200 cleats you are freed from the effort of frequent reloading. The 9.5-pound cleat nailer is lightweight, can be easily ported at the job site, and stably drives a nail through 3/4-inch hardwood flooring. Includes: MFN200 cleat nailer and rubber mallet.

2 out of 5 stars Too much work   July 22, 2010
Kay Davenport (O'Fallon, MO United States)
There is a reason this is a MANUAL nailer...it requires much effort to drive the nail into the hardwood. We were installing the thicker hardwood in 2 large rooms....it would have taken forever, and our arms would have been worn out by the time we finished that. Good price, but definitely worth spending more on a power nailer, especially for larger projects.

1 out of 5 stars worked great for 300 sq then ratcheting mechanism broke   July 15, 2010

Worked great for 300 sq ft and then ratcheting mechanism broke. The cleat will not seat completely into the tongue. The nailer is descibed as "durable enough for the professional" and "incredibly well-made". Not the one I received.

5 out of 5 stars Worked surprisingly well   July 4, 2010

This reconditioned floor nailer worked flawlessly. I used it to nail down solid oak planks in a walk-in closet. I am a rookie with this kind of project, and was a little concerned with purchasing a reconditioned product for possible quality issues. Those fears were unnecessary as this tool did it's job well. This nailer and hammer came out of the shipping box looking brand new - not a nick, chip or scratch on it. How do they do it? If you aren't doing this work on a regular basis, I do not see the need in investing a lot more money in a pneumatic nailer for the ordinary do-it-yourselfer. I am in my 50's, in reasonably good shape, but do not have Popeye arms, and I found this tool to be easy to use. I did have to set some heads with my nail set. If you do have health concerns, you may want to check out the pneumatic nailers however.

3 out of 5 stars Ratchet plunger pin broke after 300 sq. ft.   July 1, 2010
Shane Z. Ratterman
The nailer worked great for the first 300 square feet of floor, then the ratchet pin assembly broke. It will still drive a nail, but if you don't seat it all the way on the first hit, you're out of luck; those nails are a real pain when they're only part-way in! Bostitch customer service was friendly and helpful, but didn't know much about this tool and could/would not tell me if the ratchet plunger would be covered by warranty or not. The local service center also would not tell me, and they have a 2-3 week backlog before they will look at the tool, then another week or more to special order the part because it is not one they keep on hand -- all without knowing whether I will have to pay for it or not. I can't really put my project on hold that long, so will just have to beg/borrow/buy/rent another one in the meantime. It's not worth the money and hassle if you can't even finish a single room with it before it breaks! I would recommend buying a cheap alternative at Harbor Freight, renting one, or buying the tool from somewhere local with an awesome return policy or extended store-serviced warranty. What a pain!
** Update: The part isn't covered by warranty, and further, [...] sells the ratchet assembly, which they acquire from Bostitch, for $16. Bostitch told me they would charge me $42 for the part!

1 out of 5 stars rent one instead   June 29, 2010
frustrated

Nailer failed after two hours of use. The part that failed (CL80-22521 - DRIVER BLADE) is not covered under warranty because it is considered, quoting the manual, "a normally wearing part". A replacement from Stanley costs $6.64 plus $16.00 shipping. Part has been back ordered for two weeks. No word yet on when the replacement will arrive. Stanley did bill my credit card. Rather than live with half the floor in my house torn out and furniture piled in the other half I rented another nailer.
