 Saved my UK Drills from going in the bin August 26, 2010

This saved me throwing away my UK battery powered drills. I brought my two heavy duty battery drills over from the UK, without even thinking the power difference would make a difference (everything seems to run on 110v - 240v now a days) but the 110v supply was not enough to charge the batterys on my drills. But thanks to the Step up and cheap US to UK converter I now have fully charged batterys and 2 working drills. And a bargain price too.

I had the thing running in Ghana (Africa) 24/7 for 6 weeks powering a TV, laptop, phone and camera charger. Never had an issue. Makes a small hum for a second when your turn it on, then its silent after that. And its pretty tough too because i definitely dropped it a few times (with a few dents) and it just kept on truckin'.

Been working great...have bought 3. Be sure to get enough wattage...you are supposed to get 2x the amount of wattage you will be using. We had one blow for this reason.
One other issue is that the power cord pulls out partially from the back of the unit.
Nothing to compare so am happy to have something that works. Have been using for the past year on continuously.

The product works as described. I did not give it 5 stars since the documentation was lacking. It could be better. Cos getting it wrong could blow the fuse or damage the appliance. Best is it can convert step-up and step-down.
