Product Description The absorber® was designed over 30 years ago to dry cars and trucks. It is the ORIGINAL PVA shammy. The super absorbent power of the absorber® not only dries your car quickly, but leaves a streak free finish behind. Once the absorber® is saturated with water simply wring it out and continue drying your vehicle. For the hood of your car we recommend that you lay the absorber flat on the surface and pull it across the hood, trunk, or car top. Let the absorber do the work for you as it sucks up the water as you move across the surface of your vehicle. You can fold the absorber to dry the side panels of your vehicle. The absorber can be used to dry the nooks and crannies of your vehicle. This is a distinct advantage over blade type and other drying devices.
The absorber® is reinforced with a mesh scrim for added durability and strength, but has NO surface fibers which makes it safe for all paint finishes. It also will not remove wax from your vehicle as you dry it. It is resistant to most chemicals. It is unharmed by grease and oils. Best of all the absorber® is machine washable and will last for years.

Going strong after 20 years July 30, 2010 Guillaume Normand (Orange, CA USA) I am still using the same absorber chamois after 20 years. It works just as well as day one. I do not understand people who gave this product a 1 star or 2 star rating. They don't know what they are talking about and certainly do not know how to read instructions on how to use this product and how to care for this product.
I used to have 2 of the absorber, but I lost one by letting it dry out. Once it is dried out it will never have it drying property back. The absorber is easy to clean. Simply rub the soiled area as you would dirty clothes under running water. Do not use soap. Soap will also reduce the absorbing ability of the absorber.
Finally store the absorber in its original plastic container with water. I usually keep the container in the bucket I used to wash the car. That way the water in the absorber container does not make a mess. It can stay in the container for several months if you added enough water.
Ideal car drying cloth for 10 YEARS and going... July 27, 2010 ScoGold I have been using THE ABSORBER for the last 10 years with zero problems.
My philosophy is that if you spend your time washing your car, the job can become a complete waste if you have the annoying 'water spots' caused by hard water. 5 minutes with THE ABSORBER perfectly dries your car with ease.
I have been washing my car roughly 2 times a month for the last 10 years and have yet to have a problem with this product. The finish on my car is pristine and my 7 year old Chevrolet may be getting old, but the paint/finish sparkles just as is it did on the day I picked it up from the lot. I even use the cloth for a few days after I washed my car to get rid of any morning dew to prevent water streaks.
One good suggestion is that after you're done drying, spray THE ABSORBER with the hose and ring it out to ensure all heavy debris is removed from the product. I always roll it up neatly in the form that I purchased it in and always store it in the container. It will feel slightly moist every time you take it out, but that lets me know that it's still working.
From the looks of these reviews people suggest putting it in the washer/dishwasher to clean but honestly I have yet to try this out in the last 10 years (oops?) but it still seems perfectly clean.
Buy at least one of these or 2+ if you want to keep it in handy places.
Good for drying a washed car July 21, 2010 Timothy S. Mills I purchased this cloth with the intent of drying my car after I have washed it. I have very hard water and when I want my car to look nice I have to dry it or I get little hard water spots all over the place.
Drying my car with "The Absorber" does solve that problem and it does absorb quite a lot of water. It squeezes out easy and stores quite well in the container it comes in. I have used it a number of times and am generally happy with it.
I should mention it is does not perfectly get every last bit of water. But it dries to the point where the residual water evaporates in a minute or so. I consider that pretty good and my goal of not having water spots is met so I'm a happy camper. I would buy another one if I needed it :)
the absorber is great!!!!!! June 27, 2010 partsguy Once you use an absorber you will use your natural chamois for grease rags. I had used my last absorber for 30 years and still use it today, just saw an add and thought I would treat myself to a new one. Put it back in the tube after you use and while it is still damp and it will last and work forever. When it gets dirty toss it in the washing machine, take it out after spin cycle and its ready to go again. I dont know what this stuff it but it works great!
no streaks on my car! June 14, 2010 Yair Marx (Northern VA) just used this for the first time after washing my car. it didnt leave any water streaks. my car is black, so dry water is very visible on it. this delivered as advertised. i am going to buy another one for my shower. will use it to wipe the walls, to prevent scum and mildew.
