Inexpensive and works well enough May 23, 2010 DEP (Washington, DC) We bought this product for our dog who rides strapped in behind the driver in our 2005 Nissan Altima sedan wearing her dog seatbelt. In short this reasonably priced product is fine for that purpose--it keeps the sun off of her and she can still see out some, and when cold weather comes around again it will be easy enough to take the device down and store it in the vehicle. The suction cups work OK noting that with any surface it is important to moisten them before sticking them on and they will stick much better.
love this shade! April 22, 2010 amznquen (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I drive a Jeep Commander, and my daughter's car seat is installed behind the passenger seat (rear facing, if that makes a difference) I just installed the shade last week, and, aside from the fact that one of the "twist" suction cups likes to pop loose every once in a while (has happened 2x so far in 7 days, and it's a bottom corner one, so it doesn't really matter) this has been a lifesaver on our long commute home from work/daycare every day! I didn't install it the way that they show in the picture....I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I installed it (without cleaning the window or suction cups first) with the row of 4 suction cups on the bottom....who knows if that is why I've had better results than some of the other reviers.
The material shades my daughters face well, but is transparent enough that she (and I!) can see through the window - much more effectively than the traditional sun shades that you hook over the glass and pull down to shade. The ENTIRE window is covered from corner to corner, so no direct sunlight hits her face during our drive....makes for a very happy mommy, and a very quiet baby! I will be buying this product again for friends!
Fantasic Product! April 22, 2010 Gina3030 (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am so surprised by the other reviews, this is the best sunshade I have tried yet!! I have a Toyota Rav 4 and purchased two shades for the backseat windows. They installed quickly, I didn't have any trouble with the suction cups. They have stayed put since the day I installed them. The coverage area is great and it doesn't leave any large gaps for the sun to come through. It not only covers the main window, but the smaller additional part of the window that many shades lack (in my car at least). I also love that it doesn't create a blind spot for me, I can easily see through them while driving. I would never go back to a pull down type shade again. I suppose it doesn't work for everyone. But, it works great for us. I am glad I didn't let the mediocre reviews deter me from trying it. Also, I live in Chicago where we have extreme hot and cold and so far haven't encountered a problem with it coming undone. Car rides have been much better since we put these shades in the car!
Terrible... April 20, 2010 Michi Sakurai (los angeles, ca) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The shape of the shade wasn't compatible with my car rear window so it never fit correctly. Perhaps the shape had to do with it but the suction would always pop off and never stick.
Waste of Money March 7, 2010 Dave M (West Palm Beach, Florida) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was looking for a sunshade that was wide enough to cover an SUV rear window. So, I purchsed this one and it is long enough to cover. However, after a few days, the corner suction cups just come off. The reason is that, according to the directions, you need to stretch it out and the corner suction cups will adhere to the window. Sounds great, but hardly works. We were driving around with the top left corner banging against the window, as it never stuck. I finally became so annoyed with it, I pulled over and threw it in the garbage.
I'm now purchasing a cut to fit window cling.
Save yourself the money and don't buy this product.
