Great for Indoor Use March 7, 2010 Jenifer Bracewell (Amissville) We've had a terrible winter and line drying outdoors just hasn't been possible most of the time. So I ordered this to tide me over, but now I'm thinking that even once it warms up, I'll keep on using it - especially for small loads.
It was a good bit bigger than I thought it would be - about 6 inches across. I didn't want to put it anywhere it'd be seen all the time. But finally I had a brainwave and I mounted on the back wall of the master bedroom closet with the hook on the opposite wall. I don't even notice the hook and the line unit is completely out of the way, but still very accessible when I need it!
If I want things to dry extra fast, I just turn on the ceiling fan.
Great clothesline! March 7, 2010 P. Mason (Tucson, AZ USA) Product arrived quickly and intact and was exactly what I wanted. Only wish the 'line' was cord instead of plastic so it wouldn't permanently dent when compressed. As long as it's durable, which it appears to be, the dents hopefully won't compromise the strength of the line.
Large and in charge! March 5, 2010 Teacher Mom (Akron, OH) Very sturdy and not at all "cheap" feeling, will definitely do a more than sufficient job as a clothes line! I did not look at the dimensions when I purchased, and it is much larger than I thought it was going to be. If you have a small area to hang the main part, look into the dimensions!
Okay, but not very good for anything heavy. February 9, 2010 Finicky Consumer (Southern California, USA) The concept of this is good. It seems like a great idea. However, in practice, any heavier items stretch the line so that the items almost brush the ground. I'm not sure if the line itself stretches or if the holder doesn't keep the line from spooling more out under the weight of clothes hanging on it. Not horrible - I just put the heavier items on the ends of the line. The best thing available for the purpose; maybe someone will tweak the design.
Incidentally, the round plastic piece holding it to the hook broke. Again, not horrible - I just tied the cord around the remnant of plastic and it stayed fine.
